Alistar

Greeting and well met fellow adventurer. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Alistar.

Not to long ago, I set out from my homeland, Mierani Forest. Not knowing where I was headed, only knowing that despite the tradition of elves staying close to their homelands, I was ready for adventure. Longing for more than to be a skilled craftsman, I set out to find my true calling in life. I wandered a south fair distance away, until I came to the town of Sandpoint.

I entered Sandpoint on the day of a festival - the Swallowtail Festival from what I've gather. However, not long after arriving in town, the town was besieged by goblins. I found myself locked in a fierce battle with a few other adventurers. We are, for now, linked into some haphazard group. We must look a bit out of place, as we couldn't be more different. For now, I am accompanied by a rowdy, hotheaded halfling rouge , who goes by the name Runt Pumpernickle, a half-elf warlock named
Methuselah, a dragonborn Paladin of Gorum who goes by Sarineo, and a drunken dwarven cleric named Adrik Stoneliver . Of my four fellow adventurers, Sarineo is the only one I trust to have my back in battle. He has proven himself to be a formidable ally in helping to defeat the many goblins. Adrik, although often inebriated, has proven himself to be a trustworthy cleric, healing my fellow party members in times of need. Runt tends to get us into some situations, perhaps because the goblins are attracted to his foul stench. I feel that they have somehow "marked" him with a scent of their own, thus attracting them to us. Methuselah has shown that while she may be weak, she can be an asset with her ranged concoctions.

After defeating many goblins and saving a nobleman from the same fate given to his dog, we found ourselves bound together. We are now mercenaries, tasked with both protecting the town from more attacks and with finding out who was at the heart of the attacks and why. We've been getting the lay of the land by mingling with the townsfolk and helping them if we can. We've helped the general store owner receive his missing wagon of ale, helped the sheriff in interrogating the goblins captured by the guard and are now working on some quests of our own - trying to find a band who call themselves the Brotherhood of the Seven. But before we can get any further, our inn keeper has been missing so we have gone to her family's glassblowing foundry in search of her.

Farewell. One day, I'm sure our paths will thus cross again and I'll keep you updated on our progress.

Burnt Offerings Part 2

We picked up where the heroes left off, with a noble and his dog in danger from a goblin riding a dog. Our heroes dispatched the goblin and his mount with some difficulty. The dragonborn paladin was dropped and much damage was dealt out by both sides.

Our heroes then continued to investigate the town of Sandpoint.

Items that were discovered :

  • Along with Father Zantus, it was discovered that the raid was conducted to steal the body of Father Ezakien Tobyn. Father Tobyn died in the fire that consumed the old temple of Desna. This fire was started by his daughter Nualia, who was also assumed to have died in the fire. Nualia was somewhat different from most children, almost angelic in nature.
  • Sheriff Belor Hemlock is the head of the law in Sandpoint. He is thankful for the help the heroes provided, and has offered each of them 100gp in return for helping to police Sandpoint in his absence. It was found out that his brother runs the White Deer Tavern.
  • Ameiko Kaij is a retired adventurer and owner of the Rusty Dragon Tavern. She is a wealth of knowledge for local rumors. She mentioned to the PCs that a group of businessmen from the city of Magnimar, known as the Brotherhood of Seven, has been making unusual inquiries in town. They appear to be buying vast sums of lumber and attempting to procure money for some unmentioned business venture. Ameiko is currently missing. She appears to have left to meet up with her brother Tsuto at the family foundry.
  • A search of the lumber mill turned up very little. The owner, Banny Harker was a bit short with the heroes, after an employee of his was hurt on the wood saw. Investigation of the lumber yard proved fruitless. A young yardhand by the name of Nicki was given 1 SP to inform the PCs of when the Brotherhood's lumber is picked up.
  • The heroes rescued a local man, Alergast Barrett, from a goblin that had held out in his house since the raid. He was near death when the PCs found him, and with luck they managed to save him. Unfortunately the family dog, Petal, was not so lucky. Amele Barrett, his wife, was so grateful, that she offered the heroes the family life savings in reward.
  • Ven Vinder owes the heroes for the life of his youngest daughter. Shayless Vinder tagged along with the heroes on a dangerous quest, and was almost killed by goblins. He provided the heroes with a bag of holding an a promise to help the heroes the next time they need help. The heroes bravely returned Vinder's cart full of liquor earning a bag of holding for their trouble.
  • Hask at the Goblinsquash Stables is going to try to acquire horses for the heroes. He gave them some lessons on what goblins like and don't like and showed them his collection of goblin ears.
  • Shaelou Andosana, a local Elf Ranger met with the heroes and confirmed that the goblins must be amassing under the strength of a powerful leader. She spoke to the heroes of the goblin tribes and promised to return to town when she found out more about what is afoot.
  • Aldern Foxglove was the name of the noble the heroes rescued from the goblins. He was entirely greatful and took the heroes boar hunting as thanks for their help. He seemed to wish that he could have the life of a hero himself, but his business would not allow him to.
As we left the heroes, they had walked into a scene of carnage at the foundry. Goblins capered around the murdered workers and the sight of a man encased in runny panes of glass met them at the main forges.
